In May 2026, Dr Haidar Hobballah published the third volume of al-Taʿlīqa ʿalā Minhāj al-Ṣāliḥīn, his research-based commentary on the celebrated legal manual of Sayyid Abū al-Qāsim al-Khūʾī. This volume completes the discussion of the Book of Prayer (Kitāb al-Ṣalāh), covering the rulings from congregational prayer (ṣalāt al-jamāʿah) through to the concluding chapters on recommended prayers (al-ṣalawāt al-mandūbah).
Spanning 548 pages, the volume continues the analytical and critical approach that characterises the series. Among its most notable contributions is a fresh reading of the jurisprudence of the traveller’s prayer (ṣalāt al-musāfir), seeking to reassess traditional legal formulations in light of the profound transformations in transportation and mobility in the modern era. The commentary also offers a sustained critical examination of a number of issues connected to the question of the Prophet’s forgetfulness (sahw al-nabī), discussed in the context of the rulings on the prostrations of forgetfulness (sujūd al-sahw).
As with the previous volumes, the work combines detailed engagement with al-Khūʾī’s legal reasoning and a broader critical evaluation of prevailing jurisprudential assumptions, reflecting Dr Hobballah’s independent and methodologically rigorous approach to contemporary Shīʿī legal thought.
