As one of Al-Mahdi Institute’s six specialist research areas, Qur’anic Studies investigates the Qur’an’s ethical, legal, theological, philosophical, spiritual, and literary dimensions. The research explores the rich interpretive traditions of the Qur’anic text while engaging its meanings in both historical contexts and contemporary discourse. Drawing on a broad range of exegetical and hermeneutical approaches, this work bridges classical scholarship with critical and inclusive academic inquiry. Led by its Research Lead, the research area convenes a biannual international conference, hosts regular research seminars, supports collaborative translation projects, and offers visiting fellowships to foster global scholarly exchange and advance research within Qur’anic studies.
