Syed Arman completed his BA (Hons) in Philosophy from Hindu College, University of Delhi, followed by an MA in Philosophy from the University of Hyderabad, with a focus on Indian Philosophy and Western Analytic Philosophy. He then pursued an MA in Islamic Studies at the University of Birmingham, where his dissertation focused on the epistemic framework of Ijtihād in Imāmi Uṣūl al-fiqh.

During his postgraduate studies, Arman contributed as a content writer for Euro-Islam.info, a network of scholars conducting comparative research on Islam and Muslims in Europe and North America.

Arman’s research interests encompass Shi’ism in South Asia, Islam and Modernity, Colonial and Post-Colonial Studies, Indian Philosophy, and Gender and Sexuality. He is also interested in Urdu Poetry and the socio-political history of the Indian subcontinent.
