On 27th November 2025, Syed Arman Kazmi, representing Al-Mahdi Institute, was invited to participate as a delegate at the UK’s first-ever National Emergency Briefing on Climate and Nature, held at Westminster Central Hall. It was a day where hundreds of MPs, Peers, and leaders from business, culture, sport and faith gathered in Westminster for an unprecedented briefing about the climate and nature crisis. The message: we must act now. Over 1,200 attendees, including around 150 Parliamentarians, senior civil servants, and community leaders, gathered to hear an evidence-based account of the interconnected threats facing the UK and the world.
The age of warnings is over. We are already living with the impacts of climate breakdown and nature loss, and it is time for bold, coordinated action. The briefing aimed to reset the national conversation, bypass misinformation, and ensure MPs are fully informed and accountable on these crucial decisions. AMI remains deeply engaged with the ecological challenges of our time, grounded in an understanding of spiritual growth and our ethical responsibility towards the natural world. In that spirit, we are pleased to announce our partnership with the Laudato Si’ Research Institute (LSRI) to deliver a two-day formation course on Christian-Muslim Dialogues on Ecology in Winter 2026, equipping Muslim and Christian communities with the theological and intellectual resources to respond together to today’s environmental challenges.
The course will be held on 12th – 13th February 2026 at Al-Mahdi Institute and will be led by LSRI Research Affiliate Farhana Mayer and AMI Faculty, Professor Seyed Mohammad Fatemi and Dr Zoheir Esmail.
