- [What is the correct time of Maghrib in Islamic Law?](https://arifa7.sg-host.com/the-time-of-maghrib-in-islamic-law/): The determination of prayer timings is one of the fundamental aspects of Islamic ritual practice. Among the five daily prayers, the timing of Maghrib has generated significant discussions among Sunni and Shia scholars, particularly regarding the precise moment when it begins. While the Qur’an emphasises general human observations of natural phenomena rather than precise astronomical timings, later exegetical and jurisprudential efforts sought to clarify the starting time of Maghrib. This writing explores the Islamic legal discourse on the timing of Maghrib, incorporating both Sunni and Shia perspectives, and concludes that the commencement of Maghrib aligns with the physical sunset.

- [Is it permissible for a Muslim man to shave his beard?](https://arifa7.sg-host.com/is-it-permissible-for-a-muslim-man-to-shave-his-beard/): According to the popular understanding of Sharia, it is considered impermissible for a Muslim man to shave his beard if he is capable of growing one. Some jurists believe it is recommended (mustaḥab) to shave the moustache and maintain a beard at least the length of a palm. Others argue that keeping a moustache is acceptable and that a Muslim may shave or trim his beard as long as the remaining hair is considered a beard according to the customs (ʿurf) of the society he lives in.
