International Students

The Al-Mahdi Institute understands the needs of those living overseas for receiving a thorough grounding in Arabic and Islamic studies for their personal and communal upliftment. The AMI therefore offers international students the opportunity to receive a formal education in this area through a variety of learning routes.

Students can now gain access to the Four Year Hawza Programme and AMI Short Courses via the following means:

Virtual Online Studies: The AMI’s ‘Virtual Learning Facility’ enables students to enrol and take part in classes Online, including receiving direct access to the Module Instructor and being able to participate in live classroom discussions. The Virtual Studies option is currently open to applicants who wish to apply for the Four Year Hawza Programme.

Virtual Offline Studies: The AMI’s ‘Offline’ study route has been designed particularly for those students who due to other work or family commitments cannot attend classes in-house, or be a part of a live class virtually. Using the AMI’s bespoke software, offline students can view class recordings clearly, and through adopted technology such as smart boards, students can receive a visual of the whiteboard projected onto their screen alongside the class recording.The Virtual Studies option is currently open for applicants wishing to apply for the Four Year Hawza Programme or Short Course – Evening Classes.   

AMI Livestream: In addition to Virtual Online and Offline Studies, the AMI also offers overseas students the option of streaming live classes, students can watch live classes as they happen from the comfort of their own locale.  The ‘Live Stream’ option is currently open for applicants wishing to apply for Short Course – Evening Classes.  

In-House Studies: As well as catering for students Online, the AMI offers and encourages students to consider the option of attending classes in person, to truly receive the fullest experience and benefit from being a part of an academic and intellectually stimulating environment. The ‘In-House’ studies option is currently open for applicants wishing to apply for the Four Year Hawza Programme or Short Courses. The Al Mahdi Institute welcomes and considers all applications for the Four Year Hawza Programme and admissions are based on the merit of each individual application. In addition to this, overseas students will fall into either one of the categories below and should take note of the following:

EU Applicants: The Al Mahdi Institute welcomes and encourages students residing in Europe who are seeking studies in Arabic and Islamic education to apply. Applicants who wish to enrol as In-house students may also wish to consider applying for Student Scholarships.
